Top Five Healthy Habits for Busy People

July 23, 2015 By Ayesha Sohaib

Are you busy? I am sure there are so many us who multitask every day and always feel like something’s been left out. If that’s the case, then there are ways you can keep your sanity and manage your tasks too. Stay healthy with these easy to do five tips.

Always maintain sight of your goals

Your goals are the only things keeping you from giving up and failing.  They should remind you of why you work so hard and keep so busy.  One way to maintain sight of your goals is the use of a vision board.  This board has pictures of your goals on it.  The pictures can be of a diploma you are working towards, or a beach where you plan to take your next vacation.

Having an ultimate goal is so important.  It is a constant reminder of what you are striving for.  Short and long term goals keep us focused and ensure success.

Delegate smartly

Busy people should know how to delegate their work to those working alongside them.  This leads to an enriched leadership.  It is a myth that the manager knows best.  The reason why others are on team is to share their skills and ideas.

The four steps of delegation are  assessment & planning, communication, surveillance & supervision, and lastly evaluation and feedback.  If there are any issues in the feedback, the process begins again.

Learn from your mistakes

If you are constantly working, you are more likely to make a mistake every now and then. When this happens, do not beat yourself up about it or dwell on the mistake.

Mistakes are inevitable when you are always working and on the go. The best way to deal with mistakes is to learn from them. When you learn from your mistakes, you become a better person.

Get a good night’s sleep

A good night’s sleep is important to maintain a healthy level of energy. People need six to eight hours of sleep every night. Any less than this, and you put yourself at risk as you will not be working at your best.

Coffee is okay to stimulate yourself every once in a while, but you should not rely on it to energize you throughout the day. Getting six to eight hours of sleep each night will ensure you have productive days.

Take breaks

Busy people are known for always being on the go. This constant working can take a toll on your mind and body. If you overwork yourself, you can experience fatigue. Your muscles may begin to hurt and you may not be as productive as you once were.  You will work better after the break and will in turn be more productive.

These healthy habits for busy people if followed, will hopefully ensure a happier work environment and a healthier you. Tell us how you keep healthy and find time for yourself during those busy days.
